Professional Supervision

  • I offer professional supervision for therapists whose work is informed by attachment theory and relational approaches. Supervision provides a thoughtful, collaborative space to reflect on clinical practice, deepen understanding of attachment dynamics, and sustain ethical, effective, and compassionate therapeutic work.

My approach recognises that attachment‑focused therapy places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, emotional attunement, and the impact of the therapist’s own attachment history. Supervision therefore attends not only to clinical material, but also to the relational process, the therapist’s internal experience, and the wider systems influencing the work.

  • Supervision is suitable for:

    • Qualified and trainee attachment‑focused therapists

    • Counsellors and psychotherapists working relationally

    • Clinicians using attachment‑informed, trauma‑informed, or developmental approaches

    • Therapists working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, or families

I welcome practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds, including counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, social work, and allied helping professions.

  • My supervision style is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in attachment theory. I aim to create a safe and containing supervisory relationship where curiosity, honesty, and professional growth are supported.

Key elements of my approach include:

    • Attention to attachment patterns within the therapeutic relationship

    • Exploration of parallel process and relational dynamics

    • Support with emotional regulation, boundaries, and therapeutic presence

    • Ethical decision‑making and professional accountability

    • Integration of theory with lived clinical experience

Supervision is tailored to your level of experience, clinical context, and professional requirements.

  • Supervision sessions may include:

    • Reflecting on complex or emotionally demanding client work

    • Understanding attachment strategies and relational patterns

    • Working with trauma, loss, and developmental experiences

    • Managing enactments, ruptures, and repair in therapy

    • Supporting therapist wellbeing and preventing burnout

    • Linking practice to ethical frameworks and professional standards

The pace and focus of supervision are shaped collaboratively, ensuring sessions remain relevant and meaningful to your work.

  • I offer:

    • Individual supervision

    • Group supervision (where appropriate)

    • Online supervision via secure video platform

    • In‑person sessions (subject to location and availability)

Session frequency and length can be arranged to meet training, accreditation, or organisational requirements.

  • Supervision is conducted in line with relevant professional and ethical guidelines. Confidentiality, clear boundaries, and respect for diversity and difference are central to my practice. Any limits to confidentiality will be discussed openly and transparently.

  • If you are interested in attachment‑focused supervision, or would like to arrange an initial conversation to explore suitability, please get in touch. An introductory discussion offers an opportunity to consider your supervision needs, ask questions, and decide whether this supervisory relationship feels like a good fit.

I welcome enquiries from both experienced practitioners and those in training.
