What kind of therapist are you?
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, which means I am trained in three main therapeutic approaches: Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Being integrative allows me to tailor the way I work to suit your unique needs, preferences and communication style.
Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?
Not at all- I offer both short and long term work.
What should I expect from my first session?
During our first session, we’ll go through the counselling contract together, which I will email to you beforehand so you have time to read it. After we’ve discussed the contract, we’ll spend the rest of the session exploring what has brought you to counselling and how you’d like to use our time together. I often find it helpful for us to talk about your support network, your life experiences, and how the challenges you’re facing are affecting your day-to-day life.
By the end of our initial meeting, we can decide together whether I am the right counsellor for you.
