Adoption, Fostering & Special Guardianship Orders
As a Barnardo’s Link Therapist, I am registered with Ofsted to work with children and young people affected by adoption. I am also trained to support all individuals within the Adoption Triangle—birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees—as well as those involved in fostering and Special Guardianship Orders.
For anyone touched by adoption, a wide range of emotions can arise at different stages of the journey. As an Attachment-Focused Therapist (AFT), I offer adoptive parents and families support as they navigate the highs and lows of assessment, matching panels, early introductions and post-placement life, which often includes the challenges and rewards of therapeutic and PACE parenting.
Fostering and Special Guardianship bring their own unique joys and difficulties—whether it’s the excitement of welcoming new children, the busyness and exhaustion of adjusting to new family dynamics, or the emotional complexity that comes with changes to personal roles and identity.
You may be a birth parent navigating the loss, trauma and grief of separation from your child.
Wherever you find yourself and whatever you are feeling, I am here to support you.
